Project Manager (Contract Agent, FG IV)

The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is organizing a selection procedure for the recruitment of one Project Manager (Contract Agent, FG IV).

8-9 October 2012-  -FCH JU Traineeship – 2013 (1st in-take) -  Period for receipt of applications has been closed.

 

The FCH JU operates a traineeship programme. The programme gives trainees an understanding of the FCH JU and its role within the activities of the European Union, enables them to acquire practical knowledge of the FCH JU and its regulatory framework and to obtain professional experience in the course of their work.

Detailed rules can be found in the attached document (Decision of the Executive Director on Rules governing traineeships at the FCH JU)

Successful candidates will have an academic background in economics, political science, engineering, technical studies such as environmental or energy studies or similar. Knowledge of the fuel cells and hydrogen technologies will be considered as an advantage.

They will also have some professional or training experience in project management, administration, EU affairs (e.g. communication, IT, legal affairs, internal audit, finance, office management), acquired either in a public administration/academic institution or in the private sector.

Trainees are selected from nationals of the Member States of the European Economic Area (the 27 Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a university degree or equivalent at the time of applying;
  • An excellent command of oral and written English and one or more other official Union languages (French and /or German advantageous);
  • A very good interpersonal, communication and team skills. 

Grant:

The FCH JU pays a monthly grant of  1 071,19 EUR in 2012 net per month and may pay a travel allowance to compensate the expenses incurred at the beginning and at the end of the traineeship from the place of residence, which is normally the address provided for correspondence. It is recommended to read carefully the detailed rules applicable.

How to apply:

The placements are for periods of 3 to a maximum of 6 months.

Interested candidates should send a motivation letter in English together with their CV in EU format and a copy of their university degree by e-mail to applications@fch.europa.eu at the latest by Friday 12 November 2012.

October-November 2011

The FCH JU looks for consultancies in order to conduct studies on the commercialisation of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies and competing technologies.

The FCH JU envisages commissioning studies in different sectors where fuel cells and hydrogen technologies are the most promising:

  • Urban buses
  • Passenger cars, including EU-wide roll-out of infrastructure
  • Stationary applications
  • Material Handling

For each sector, the studies will be supported by a coalition of industrial actors.

This is an  an open procedure for concluding multiple framework contracts . Simultaneously the FCH JU will award a specific contract for the first study on bus Commercialisation

Applicants are invited to submit together a tender for the framework contract and for the first study.

The maximum overall budget for the whole duration of the framework contracts is € 5 million.

The deadline for submitting an offer is 2 December 2011.

Potential applicants are invited to read carefully the invitation to tender, the tender specifications and the annexes.

On 19 January 2012, three framework contracts were awarded to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, McKinsey and Company, Booz and Company.

In March 2012, a first specific contract was signed with McKinsey for a study in the bus sector consisting of a fact based comparison between Fuel Cell Bus and other alternative powertrains;

In August 2012, a second specific contract was signed with McKinsey for a study on the trends in terms of investments, turnover and jobs in the FCH sector.

 

 

August 2011

The FCH JU is looking for a fuel cells car to lease and is launching a tender.

In order to promote FCH technologies towards EU policy makers and citizens, the FCH JU would like to have a Hydrogen Fuel Cell car available for testing by Members of the European Parliament, Commissioners, EU Officials and other policy makers.

July 2011

The FCH JU launches a negotiated procurement procedure for a Policy Study "Market and Public Policies respective  roles: Options for Public Sector Funding Support- The case of Commercialisation of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles."

On 29 July 2011, the contract was awarded to BRUEGEL.
